Gippsland Family Day Care
Welcome to UnitingCare Gippsland Family Day Care
Gippsland Family Day Care is a childcare service that provides quality care for children up to 12 years of age, in a home environment, through approved Educators.
Educators are able to care for four preschool aged children and three school age children before and after school and during school holidays. Gippsland Family Day Care receives Australian Government funding from the Childcare Support Program, and is operated by UnitingCare Gippsland.
The practice at UnitingCare Gippsland is to promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Belonging, Being & Becoming…
UnitingCare Gippsland Family Day Care aims to provide high quality care and education in a welcoming home based setting, which is flexible and offers choice for families. We provide a safe, secure environment for children and families, fostering a strong sense of belonging.
We are co-learners with children, families and the community and value the richness of local knowledge shared by the community including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. We respect individual uniqueness of families, children and educators developing a further sense of belonging which contributes to a culturally inclusive environment.
Children are provided with the opportunity to experience a stimulating, engaging environment which facilitates children’s learning and development. We provide play based learning experiences that encourage investigation, exploration, creativity, imagination, social interaction and are responsive to children’s strengths, skills and knowledge.
We provide open-ended experiences for children to explore their natural environment and develop as confident learners. We are committed to providing an inclusive curriculum, which is equitable and we believe in all children’s capacity to succeed regardless of diversity and abilities.
We believe partnerships involve working collaboratively and respectfully with everyone and are based on the foundation of understanding each other’s expectations and attitudes and build on the strengths of others knowledge.
We believe partnerships with families’ value differences and recognise that families are the child’s first and most influential teacher. Respectful partnerships honour the histories, cultures, languages, traditions, child rearing practices & lifestyle choices of families.
