Communities for Children
Welcome to the Communities for Children website.
Communities for Children (CfC) is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services – f0rmerly Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) under the Family Support Program with a focus on children aged 0-12 years.
Communities for Children is aimed at increasing child safety and wellbeing, by addressing known risk factors that impact on the parenting capacity of families. Services support the wellbeing of children by building strong parenting skills and stronger and more sustainable families and communities.
UnitingCare Gippsland is the Facilitating Partner and is funded to develop partnerships with local organisations to engage in place-based service responses to local problems.
Around 25 major strategies and over a 100 smaller scale ‘grass roots’ projects have been supported through the program between 2005 and June 2016.
